If you want to use a Hungarian document in a foreign country that has not signed the so-called Apostille Convention (international convention) then the international legalization of the document takes place via embassy attestation.
In the course of embassy attestation, after the pre-authentication of several Hungarian authorities, the consulate of the country of use stamps and signs the document.
Embassy attestation is essentially a further stamp and signature to be put on the document which serves to confirm the authenticity of the latest official stamp and signature on the document.
Embassy attestation is a rather time-consuming process, requiring much follow up.

Depending on the type of document the duration of the Embassy Attestation is between 7 and 14 working days. Please note that certification of certain documents may take a longer time, especially if the authority does not have the signature and stamp template to be legalized. After completing the legalization, we will send you the certified document in the manner selected in Your request for an offer.
